    CV Joint Boot

    Hey guys,

Just had some new tyres fitted, whilst the car was on the hoist the boys noticed that my front left CV joint boot has a small tear. What do you think my chances are of getting this repaired under warranty given the car is lowered etc?

    Anyone else had this problem?

OK, just answered my own question.

Yes it is covered under warranty. Hopefully the joint isn't damaged and its an easy fix.

How did you get it covered by waranty did they not care that it had been lowered?

I told them that I was getting some new tyres this morning and that while the car was on the hoist the guys noticed that I had a tear in the outer CV boot.

The guy at VW said that VW CV boots have "breather" holes but that he would get someone to look at it. So they took it out back onto the hoist.

The mechanic came back a few mins later confirmed that there was a tear and that it was covered under warranty.

    Booked in for next Wed.

Didn't mention a thing about the car being lowered.
