    Angry cracked foglight

    hey guys,

went for a drive yesterday with 3 other mates, this morning i realized my right foglight got a big crack (going thru from one side to the other in a straight line). I can't see any impact point on the glass, so pretty much im clueless to what happened..

has anyone been in this situation before? if so any idea on how much a new foglight would cost from vw? or where can i get the cheapest from, ebay?

There are plenty of reasonably priced fogs for sale on eBay...at least there are to suit the Golf and Jetta. Can't see there would be any difference between them and the Polo.
You might even be able to upgrade to projector fogs.(Be aware though, these may use a different style of globe so some adaptors need to be made or new sockets soldered onto the line)

Right side huh...aesthetics aside, if you still have the original intercooler pull it out for some extra airflow...

hmm so does this mean its a common problem??? I don't understand how mine got cracked. can't be a stone chip as there's not a single rock/stone chip on the glass.

Could it be possible that you guys had the foglights on at some point for a period of time (long enough to get hot) and then drove through a puddle of water? The sudden cooling of the foglight from the water may have cracked the foglight.

The most common place for puddles to occur is on the left side of the road,

It is rather odd how there are no visible impact marks on the lens,

^that could be it one of the reasons, but I know that mine cracked when I went around Wisemans and didn't used the foggies. Getting a new one from VW would set around $150-200
