    Coolant Consumption

My GTI seems to be consuming coolant at a rapid rate. I filled it up about 8 weeks ago as the coolant light was coming on and only yesterday the light came on again. Checked the level and it is back down below minimum.

Anyone else had an issue? Any ideas what could be causing this? It isnt leaking so i has to be going somewhere.

could be the old radiator issue a few have had. I'd look for the thread on it, i think there is a common issue near the top left / right.

Check around the thermostat, from memory that is the common leak point most Polo's have.

Only fix is to get a new radiator

think i would have it pressure tested, thats how to check for coolant leaks. Radiator issue is round the temp switch left side, not thermostat.
    cheers

It could be a slight head gasket leak either going into the exhaust or could be leaking into the engine ,did you check the oil if its milky looking there's the problem.

Depending on how many km you've done since the last top up it may pay to take of the radiator cap while the engine is running and check for any bubbles that will show if its the head gasket.
