Jmac did this for me last week and I would like to thank him and recommend this mod. Steering feels/is more precise and I think it also helps with wheelspin in first and second. Seems to be less tramping and a bit more squirrely due to torque steer as more power is getting to the ground.

    Jmac,

May I know how complicated it is to install? The bushes needed to be machine pressed?

I'm interested in a possible group buy as well Jmac

Edit: I would also be interested in organizing local fitting in Brisbane as part of it too

I got 2 tyres fitted today and roatated to the front. The tyre place said my front control arm bushes were gone and would need replacing, they also said they would not touch them and to call VW and ask for part and price to fit, but to sit down when asking - this worried me

Now the question is, do i need both bushes for front left and right or just the rear ones for each side at the front (i hope this made sense)

Does anyone know of a good installer in Sydney - I live near Parramatta.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would hazard the rear of the control arm bushes. I did a set today and they were the worst ive seen, fully detached.
i have ordered a few sets and they will be here soon. Pm me for info
As for fitting you will need 12 new bolts, 2 control arm bolts, 4 steer rack bolts and 6 ball joint bolts, all torque to yield and need to be replaced, i change the bolts for less than $30 Well worth it as ive had one Gti lately with a loose control arm bolt. My opinion they are a must so please factor them in, if you are taking them some where to be done pm me for part numbers.
To answer the bush install, yes you really need a press. You can do it in place , first couple i did in place very difficult. Press them in for the win.
A wheel alignment is also req afterwards.
Pm me for torque settings for the torque to yield bolts too, being torque to yield the torque settings must be right too.
If you are pondering a sway bar upgrade now would be the time to do the bushes with the subframe out, at the same time do the dogbone, and to be honest if you are pondering susp upgrade leave it all to then. If the subframe is dropped it really helps when doing the sups as the right hand driveshaft hits the subframe and can be a pain when installing.
    Cheers

I should take a few pics of my bushes. I could nearly guarantee they would be by far the worst anyones ever seen. I dont think there is even any bush left.
