Im looking for Cold Air Intakes for the Polo GTi.
Currently have the PD160 and K&N setup.
Any recommendations?

Bmc/Cda do a good intake, and if you place it well enough, you can keep the std battery

was just wondering upgrading intake makes any different?
lets say if i just change the stock intake panel to K&N panel, would it makes any different?
or unless i change it to those Pod Filter
or SRI & CAI

Probably the best thing to do is to get yourself a panel filter and a Seat PD 160

the pd160 intake does make a difference - it certainly did with mine in terms of being able to shuffle along with traffic at lower revs whilst warming up, so that's a good thing.
panel filter will make a difference to the noise, but it wont make too much of a difference to performance. that being said, i've removed my bmc filter, so if you want one (it's clean and ready to go) then you can have it for $50 (it was on my car for 25,000kms, no damage etc etc).
pod filter - the VW system in place, once you've got a pd160 intake, is actually a pretty good setup - direct air feed from a high pressure external point on the front grille, few bends etc. a pod filter is a step back, really - sucking in hot air from the engine bay, unless you go to the trouble of trying to fab up a heat shield, in which case you're still not drawing air from a high pressure point.
i know there have been lots of threads about cai's and pod filters etc, but dont underestimate the legitimacy of the stock setup. the geeks at VW thought of everything when they designed it - grid infront of the maf to smooth out airflow, the ram trumpet in the upper (clean) side of the airbox that helps to direct air swiftly - i experimented, and took that trumpet off, and the car DEFINITELY felt lazier.
unless you're willing to spend $1000 on a bmc cda, or otherwise a few hundred and a bit of time trying to design and produce your own "cai" setup, for the purpose of chasing down that 1.5/10ths sec faster 0-100 time, it's.... well, i dont think it's really worth it.
