Welcome. Reasonable price is very subjective, what price is considered reasonable and many of us can elaborate as to options. Also, what are chasing by installing coilovers? handling, looks, adjustability???

I had FK AK's originally in my red car, wouldn't touch em at any price. They are still siting at home and I wouldn't give em away. They were flogged out, which is reflective of the build quality.

Let us know price and what you're chasing so we can try be helpful.

Heard good things about the AP Coilovers, at least from the Audi S3 guys. I drove an S4 avant with them and it handled way better than stock. But I've had very little experience with other coilovers / never took it onto a track or anything.
They are about $1100 on ebay. Remember to account for install (roughly $400).

I'll be getting a set of AP's for my car when I get the money together. They have the most features (ie ride height/camber/ spring rate) for the money and have had some good reviews from people I trust.

I have Weitec Hicon GT VW Polo 9N GTI PN 13280039 which I had in my N9 Polo GTi for about 5000 ks, As were upgrading to a different car. They are as new and are superior in ride to VW suspension and have the adjust-ability as well. For Sale now. Cheers Al

Thanks for all the help guys really appreciated. I do have a friend that can get me Bilstein's install for $1300 but was just seeing if there were any cheaper options that were reasonable say under the 1k mark? That will be able to handle reasonably and looks good don't want to go too low. So if anyone knows any other options that would be great!

Also how much did you want for your Weitec Hicon GT VW Polo 9N GTI PN 13280039???? whats your price range?

    Thanks again guys

I also had a look on ebay and found a cheap set of TA Technix Coilovers. They have free shipping with 2year warranty which seems pretty good but for the price of $450. I'm guessing you get what you pair for with a set this cheap though right?

Just want to know if anyone has experienced these or knows anything about them?

Bilstein coilovers at that price is about a third of what they'd otherwise cost, I've been quoted in the early $3k for em. Perhaps that's not a coilover but spring/strut combo like I have on the daily. Eitherway, that's either a good or absolutely awesome price.

I'd never cheap out/buy budget suspension, it's a sure bet way to make an otherwise comfortable car to a clunker, or at least compromised.

If you can stretch to around the $1k mark, that's where you need to start IMO. I've only read good feedback on the weitecs too.

One thing that can often be overlooked is that Bilstein and Koni dampers can be serviced and rebuilt in Australia. A lot of the other brands can't.

My friend has non adjustable joms coilovers and the ride quality was better than my BC coilovers when the dampening was set at 8 from soft. He's sitting at about a 40-50mm drop. They're 5 years old and still going strong
