    Coil pack

    Hey guys, My polo was running rough and misfiring very bad! i just discovered that one of the sparkplug coil packs on cylinder 4 was faulty. Hoping that this is the only problem, does anyone know how much they cost and should i replace all four of them? how offten should they be replaced? I found a link on ebay from england what do u guys think?

    From my experience with coil pack issues is that, most cars that come in with a misfire and require a coil pack always come back the next week needing another one, so since this we always try and get them replaced all at once if the customer is willing to pay. I think they retail around $80 mark each from vw. If you are getting from a none vw place make sure the part number is the newest version as vw have been changing them alot over the years, Ask at vw parts for a price and also ask what the part number is so you know the last digit, if the ones on ebay are a lower number then I would'nt bother with them. ie, if vw parts say its a F and they are selling E or lower then more than likely they will also fail in a few years!............vwtech..
