    chippeduk st3 polo

    hi guys

have had my car for less than a month and already tempted to chip it!

a friend had told me about this chippeduk st3 chip which is cheaper than the normal apr, ottinger, giac etc ones

has anybody heard of this chip for the polo specifically?

(ive ran a search for this but have not come up with anything on this chip. loads of other info on the other chips but! great read! )

Never heard of it ... wouldn't touch it with yours. There's a good reason that you mainly hear about the best 4 ... (not in any special order: APR, Oettinger, GIAC & REVO) ... it's because they ARE the best. These are the companies that have spent the most on developing good, safe, sound software ... and believe me (I've tried one that was not one of those 4), I wouldn't let any others touch my ECU.

    oh ok thanks for that!

i was thinking if i were to get it done to get it done properly anyways!

on another note, would there be any cons in chipping a car very early on in its life?

    (i.e. around the 1000km mark)

No problem with the mileage. Some guys on here have gone straight from the dealers to the chip suppliers. In fact ... some dealers have actually pointed customers in the direction of the Software companies.

Cheers mate ... and believe me ... once you've turned that chip on ... you'll never turn it off and the smiles will just keep coming.

tempting? i'll give you tempting. the chipped polo will provide:

    - a ~16psi power to weight monster
    - a 0-100km/h in low 6sec
    - a 1/4 mile run in ~14sec
    - an 80-120km/h in quicker time than Aston Martin DB9, HSV GTO, Porsche 911
    - an absolute jap import muncher; and
    - a V8 muncher

take one for a free trial between now and when you get your tax back. i bet you'll be putting one on hold as soon as you get back to the shop.

    Cheers,
    Rhys

He's not saying every V8, but it certainly can stay with and get away from many of them.

yeah sorry i wasn't really getting into detail with the cars, i thought it was pretty simple to see it was a generalisation....now it didn't really want to do a list as it was a quick run down.......but.....some people need it, so...... obviously such cars as Skyline GTR's, EVO's, TT Supra's, M3 BMW's, AUDI RS4's etc will smoke me to pieces but i'm talking about your bogans and idiots in thier VX SS's, AU XR8's, 180sx's, skyline GTS-T's etc that think they are driving 'fully sick time benders' and rev in your ear at a set of lights, filled with more confidence than Paris Hilton in front of a handy-cam. They are the people that i run, and 99% of the time leave them for dead whilst they struggle with a 4 second try-hard double clutch into 2nd gear.
some of the excuses i hear are so funny as well.....

and not to forget the Polo's efforts against the '05 297kW HSV Coupe GTO the other day.
