No he didn't... only one side of the lights went off at all, so it was both off the same time, he just got a good start.

Also, he did a 10.52, so pretty quick regardless.

not sure where you got the 10.52 from, to get that from a street car you would have to pour some serious dollars into it.
the beauty about the setup of a street meet like that is a delay in your take off will only effect your reaction time and not your et. can only recomend that people go to the drags and have a go, its a real rush and well worth the effort.
its also good for bragging rights

My bad, that 'time' was on the board before the race lol, I thought it flashed up as they raced the first time I watched it.

I think that many posts have said if you chip a pog GTI it would keep or beat an EVO but I would imagine that the same could be said of the EVO if it was chipped.

And personally after driving FWD/RWD and AWD for every day driving I would take an AWD car everytime don't worry about traction it's nearly always there unless you are being very daft or your tyres aren't up to scratch.

Had a test drive of an Evo X...or the "Evolution", as they want us to call it. All I can say is that if you find yourself, in a chipped Polo, heading off one of these cars, be very careful as the other drive is probably asleep at the wheel

The top fruit MR model is $81k OTR in the ACT; the base 5sp GSR is $64k. That's Audi S3/BMW 135 money. Mitsubishi must be determined to go totally broke in this country

And he loved the handling and also said it was a very well built solid car which makes you feel secure in it!

i am the mate with the M3 convert, and i am suprised how quick the chipped Polo is - i think theres more work to that car than just a GIAC chip

puts up a bit of a fight for the 1800kg M3 through mid rpm 2nd gear on a roll on, then im afraid the M3 starts to walk it pretty easily

the chipped Polo needs an LSD, it just cant get the power down off the line, or through 1st gear

ive just picked up a brand new R32, ill be eager to compare that with arch_angel's Polo after its run in

i can see what you mean, but there is just something about the evo lancers of the past that is just so god damn attractive.

with the way the new ones look now, though, i'd just buy a golf gti and work it till its mental...... (sorry folks, dont really like the look of the bmw or the s3).
