Now how does it compare to the MX5 you love?

    Not even comparable?

Apples and Oranges MX5s are never about power and I didn't buy it for that, even though I've ridden in a boosted SP and loved it. A stock MX5 won't have the low-down grunt of even a bog-standard Pog and a bog-standard (or even modded) Pog won't ever be as sharp and balanced as a MX5 even though it would still outgrip the 5. That plus a million other things...

Anyway, back to the Pog - it's nothing like as ferocious as some here have made it out to be (but boy does it PULL!) so you could still drive it quite sedately and civilised if you wish, I'm hearing the turbo spooling a lot more and it would spin the wheels easily if provoked. Don't see a problem of wheel spinning everywhere in the wet but that's something I'll find out...

Basically it feels like driving the same car in fast forward, everything just happens sooner. Impressed.

Very true, the Pog and MX5 are two completely different machines. Ones based on precision and handling whilst the other is more grunt. The MX5 has always been the benchmark for affordable convertible coupes.

I found that when I got my (APR) tune, the power increase was very disappointing for about 50kms. Then all of a sudden it really started to come on and I was smiling like a lunatic!!!

Anyone else have an experience like this?
