Why not just turn your fog light on when you reverse? That's what I do if I need extra light when reversing.
Righto, where to start...
Uhm, let me just start of by saying I don't care how much work this is, I want to do it!! So please help me if you know anything about what I'll need to do. I want to change my fog light into another reverse light. I want to do this becuase a car with two reverse lights just look better and honestly, I NEVER use my fogs. Not even when it's foggy. I feel it is just an annoyance to other drivers regardless of weather.
Here is a picture of the circuit board that works the pretty lights when you do weird stuff with the gears and pedals and knobs inside the car:
And here is how I understood it:
I might have the 'currents' swopped, but it gives a good idea of what's happening.
NOW: From what I figured out here is that it is only the wiring that differs. And I went to check that out. The wire leading into connection 5 (counting from the top) on the reverse side of the car, is covered in light blue and white insulation, while the other sides colours are dark blue and black. So, is it safe to assume that all I'll need to do is rewire the fog side and link it up with the reverse wire somewhere in the boot? If I do this, would I need to change fuses?
Any help will be highly appreciated...

ive done something like this similar on a trailer. i'd pretty much just spliced cable from the side that has the reverse light and run it across to the other side.
i think there might be an issue with the red film cover in the tail light (for the foglight). you can easily heat up the tail light with a heat gun and take it apart and remove that red film. i havnt done it myself, but have considered doing it.
ive taken afew headlights apart in my past quite easily done, just reseal the light very well so you dont get water coming in. wiring is pretty straight forward consider all the wires are already there just cut off the foglight and reconnect it to the other sides reverse light loom
thats all you need to do with the wiring.
No.
You may need to check the globes to make sure they are the same wattage so one is not brighter than the other and remove the red reflector as mentioned above so you have two white reverse lamps.
but thats all.
I did this years ago in our new beetle cabrio but it was much easier as the fogs are seperate to the main taillights. just bought a euro reverse lamp lens and rewired the back of the car.
Am thinking of doing it for our jetta as i also like the look of twin reverse lamps.

The red reflector has been removed a long time ago.
And thanks for the comments, I did it yesterday morning real quick, as I couldn't wait for a reply.
