    Central locking question

    My daughter has just got a “new to her”first car, a 2008 9N 1.4l 3 door Polo.
Neat little car with not too much to fix on it.

im not sure if there is a problem wirh the central locking so hoping for some advice.

Doors lock fine when using the key externally and stay locked...as you would expect.
When in the car using the internal locking button, the drivers door locks and stays locked but the passenger door locks and immediately pops up again.

The manual isn’t clear on how this should work. Is this a fault or something that can be set and changed?

Sounds like there's an issue with the locking module, which is also the latch assembly for the passenger door.

My car has also started doing this intermittently. Did the above fix (i.e. replacing the locking module in the passenger door) fix it?

VW POLO: DOOR LOCK PROBLEM ON POLO 9N

I've had the same problem for years but never got around to fixing it. It's on my to-do list and recently found this blog post which might help.

After my father nearly was killed due to not being able to be got out of a car that had auto door locking like that we never lock the car when we are in it. another minute and he would have been dead.

I understand a young lady may think it makes her safe but I hate it
