    Smile Carbon Fibre parts

    Hey guys,

I'm currently learning how to do carbon lay-ups and as such I thought I might as well make a few bits for my Polo GTI. I would contemplate making more parts but need to work out costings and that sort of thing cos I can't do it for free! What parts do people want? Am thinking things like mirrors, engine bay stuff, anything basically plastic that can be replicated.

    Let me know!

    Cheers

Pretty much an plastic parts (lets stick to dress up parts like the engine cover and that sort of thing) can be used to take a mould from. Engine cover looks to be a good one though. Was also thinking mirrors and possible air box...

Thats Cool. Are you using some sort of UV protection. The CF overlay I did 2 years ago has gone Yellowie coloured... any PIC of your work ?
I hear there is a resin they use on surf boards that does not go off coloured but my supplier sells it for ~$200 for 10L(wanna go halfs : P ), too much for an ameture.
    a pic for whoring.

Funnily enough I spoke to some guys about having this kit produced... Not only do you need wheels with a crazy offset, but the guards need to be cut up. Not so bad on the front, but on the back it's inner and outer skins, rewelding them together etc. A huge job and not easily reversible.... Will post some pics up once I've mad some mirrors and engine bay bits... Maybe after that some front guards and a bonnet...
