    ca's are junk, and I can tell the polo part is a joke.

    I know they ant making them any more but in 5 years time they will be common and cheap, with a bi turbo kit they will be a rocket.

    hahaha not this crap again about the CA's...

    Seriously, we need more local manufacturers to start taking a bit more interest in the euro scene... The exchange rate being what it is atm makes importing very costly..

    As far as specs go you can grab the factory VW workshop manual (on dvd) off eBay UK for about ~$10AUD (including postage)... Has everything you need to know about all VW/Audi/Skoda models

    No local support is why I want to take on the euro range.
    I want a euro car myself as a weekender (4th car) and to enjoy driving it but we want some aftermarket support, and that is what I do.

    So I will start with the polo and go from there, see how things go first.

    ever thought of doing aftermarket intercooler kits/turbo plumbing kits for the TDI range?

    You'd be a first to do that, not even the major overseas competitors have stage 2 kits or any other 'bolt on' style mods for the diesel boys.

    I bet you'd be one of the only people to ever want one aswell.

    Probably why no one makes them.

    Maybe in Australia, but the modified Diesel scene is getting bigger all the time, especially in Europe, and he may want to expand and export overseas at some stage.

    I'd skip the 1.8t and go straight for the 2L TFSI in the Golf GTI.

    The 20V 1.8t has been around for years and years and years (Audi A4 1994 iirc) and the polo will probably be the last car to use it.

    The Golf engine will continue (with minor tweaks) well into the MK6 model range (And associated Audis/Seats/Skodas) ie - Any part development you do will potentially have a larger and expanding market.

    And Golfs are just coming out of warranty and being modded, most cars the 1.8t use aren't worth the $$ to spend serious mod money.

    But then again - I personally welcome cheaper Aussie made mods for the 1.8t rather than rediculously expensive-for-no-reason imported brands.

    re Golf 2.0 TFSI (also badged as TSI) engines - the old motor (timing belt) is very likely to be replaced by a new version with cam chains and other changes (IIRC the engine code is CCTA and the 1.8 version is EA888 ). These new 2.0 motors are already being supplied in Golf GTIs in the US (and possibly other markets as well). Here is a link to the vortex forum for the new motor:

    There are a lot of the old version of the motor around (the GTI was a very popular Golf model), but it might be prudent to consider the migration strategy for the new motor too.
