as the bloke at BrakesDirect said, it's the top 50% of the travel that's the problem, not the bottom
I got the caliper stiffeners, cant tell any difference in my eyes. Only for the mk4 or TT calipers.

I think Eddy's brace used the base flange of an old engine mount. The bracket comes up off that and extends to the actual cylinder stopper. The short tab coming off the left of the bracket attaches to the strut tower and is through bolted into it I assume to stop any lateral walk of the bracket. Really the forces are straight off the tip of the cylinder down into the engine mount though.
Can you take a picture of it as installed?
Can't speak for Polo's but the brake master cylinder stopper on the Skyline makes a noticeable difference, it mounts to the strut brace bracket on the RHS strut tower. So does strengthening the pedal assembly, it flexes like crazy. I broke the welds on the clutch pedal bracketry at a Bathurst hillclimb, used a packet of cable ties to get it working for the rest of the event. Then welded it up and added gussets, which also made the brake pedal firmer.
Cheers
Gary

yeah i'll try to get a pic simon but its very tight in there. Not sure how much will be visible.
from what I can tell this is our master cyl:
Attention Required! | Cloudflare
its 20.64mm
This is a Bora V5 2.3's:

its 23.81mm
Go into each link, click the first example you see and do the 360 rotate function on the product pic. Tell me they are not the same bolt pattern. Could be the one.
Bigger master doesn’t help it though. I’ve been down that path.

EDIT! I think you're spot on Sam. I had it in my head that the ports on our MC come out towards the passenger side, but they don't, they need to clear the engine so come out towards the strut tower. I think we're on a winner, need to see what sort of reservoid they have and if the seals are different
I got a mate to stamp on the brake pedal while I looked at the MC and I reckon it moved about 3mm - it was very noticeable. I'm going to have a look at pulling the engine mount out and making a brace today
Hayden, what car was that in? what bore MC did you swap to and from?

Went from the aforementioned 23.81mm MK4 master to a 26mm master. In a MK4 R32.
