Hey everyone will these fit the polo?

In a word,no.
Ummm i think they might the mk4 and polo shear the same hub i think correct me if i am wrong. But thats why the audi/vw 312mm calipers and rotors are a bolt up.
Just went and messured my old polo rotors and they are the same mesurements as the MK4 288mm.
The mk4 just had diferent calipers.

MACCAA, the 288mm disks should fit (under stock 16" wheels), and the 312mm disk may fit. It will just depend on how the caliper is mounted for the larger disks as to whether they will fit.
I am running 312mm rotors on a stock 16" rim no worries at all. They came stock on boras with 16" rims. the 288mm would be fins no problems at all.
Mmmm big brakes
using standard calipers, and without having to screw around with moving bits and pieces of the braking system.
Is there a disk you can buy which will DIRECTLY go on without modifying anything which are bigger, better vented and resist fade more?
Or to really gain benefits do you need to change the caliper to cover more of the surface area of the bigger disk?
Not bigger due to the fact that the caliper is always going to sit the same distance from the center of the hub.
The idear to bigger rotors is that the further away for the center of a rotating mass the less power it takes to stop.
Better quality yes gains all depend on what you want.
See http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/newf...ead.php?t=7322
But i think a set of good pads and maybe slotted roters, fluid would be a good start.
There are lots of brand making after market rotors ATE, DBA, EBC, Bremb lots and lots all due to the fact its the mk4 gtis rotor very common.

Just having a look on the net.
http://auto.howstuffworks.com/disc-brake.htm this is a good site that is an easy way to see how it all works if any one is interested.
Lots of different 312mm discs -mine are Audi S3/TT.Mk 4 and V Golf has 312mm discs too,but the offset is different on the Polo, hence all 312mm discs don't necessarily fit.
It follows that if the disc offset is different, the caliper will also be different re offset.
Straight bolt on for the Polo is 312mm Audi S3 discs and calipers, which I have.Fits standard 16" wheel.
Mk4 R32 discs and calipers fit under 17" wheels-Ash has this set up.
After that you're in to Alcons and Brembos and much $$$$....
Cheers
