Actually, no, it mentions the passenger footwell grommet, but no photos of it, or where to actually hook the vacuum line up to. All in all pretty useless as a definitive guide.

A decent thread with pics would be better. But hey if you're happy with that info I'm happy not to waste my time doing a thread with pics.

Pics would be good. the main reason I posted this was that Petrina wanted to know where to get power from. This link had that info.

If you could do a complete thread with pics and step by step instructions that would be great.
    Cheers,

I did all the research to do this but decided the gauge was pointless in the end
The electronic or mechnical boost gauge is useless? cause i dont find the mechanical one useless but be better in a better location for me i.e steering column etc.

Power comes off something in the passengers footwell as well, i will see over the next couple days where everything is and take some pics to see if this helps at all

Definately not pointless, it is hugely entertaining .... and on mine allowed me to fine tune the Forge Diverter. Ended up stabilising boost at 1.1bar instead of the 0.9bar after messing with the springs.

Seeing boost spike to 1.5bar is great fun as well ....

I've ordered a VDO vision boost gauge locally (all up including postage about $100 ex-Perth), once it arrives I'll install it and post some happy snaps.

Was gonna get the vent gauge holder but couldn't really afford it, and then on eBay I saw this genuine VW ("Made in W. Germany", new-old stock from the 1980s, I could imagine this panel on a Mk1 or Mk2 Golf) 3 gauge DIN panel with round blanking plates for the holes so I could install additional gauges (oil pressure and oil temp possibly) in stages without having gaping holes in the dash.

Got a question re oil pressure gauge - I know there's a plug (M10 thread I think?) at the top of the oil filter bracket but it seems to be very hard to get at - for those of you who've installed an oil pressure gauge did you have to run an extention hose from the bracket to the sender? Or did you simply bolt the sender straight on? Anyone used a sandwich plate?
