    Thats the same thing I want to do to mine in the long run with some slight changes to those in the photo. I searched for some time to see if it was possible and to get some ideas. So thanks for the link....

    Bumping an old thread!

    After a year of owning a BMC CDA Intake which I never got around to installing (like most things I buy- ha!), I think I may be bothered this weekend.

    Q: Has anyone removed the windscreen washer bottle?
    -If so, where did you end up putting it?
    -If so, how easy was it to remove? I know from the top its just connected to the negative terminal on the battery which is bolted to the chassis, but what about underneath?

    I think if I have any chance of doing an air duct to the front bar, I would go 2.5" or 2.75" silicone hose to go down the right side of the engine bay bypassing the stock battery .. as in



    I was thinking a silicone flexi hose that way I can squeeze it through as I think it'll be more durable. But if you say otherwise, let me know.

    Would anyone say this is too small of a hose to ram air into? I'm thinking not, but would love to hear your thoughts.

    Also, does anyone think this guy is running a stock battery or a different battery? Can't really tell..

    The water bottle is bolted down behind the left fog light, not much working space there

    Thanks for that.

    Maybe I can remove the water bottle all together and reroute a smaller one somewhere else in the engine bay.

    Actually, I think I may sell this - I don't think the gains to be had vs installation is worth it IMO. Does anyone know the part number for a BMC Filter for the 9N3 Polo GTI? Or do you prefer K&N or any others?

    The Polo grabs a lot of air as is already as such a small distance for air to reach. You wont see a huge benefit personally from testing it out.

    For $500+ you think under 1kw is a difference to justify you might as well go buy an R32 and spend money on an NA engine! Argue all you want, i've tested the differences on logs, dynos lol. Its just not justified as the Polo k03s runs out of puff at 146kw realistically. Its a small car, very light and great power to weight ratio.

    Stop being bored, do something else :p lol my 2 psi (wrong if you wish, but from what ive tried!)

    People, you can make anything fit if you really want to, move battery to the boot/ smaller battery etc

    If you want to do it, well do it, if not, leave it alone lol

    yeah but since the turbo will be the limiting factor in flowing air into the engine, why bother (unless you already have a bigger turbo fitted)?

    the stock intake does fine. I think the turbo could be pushed harder, but then you are limited by the injectors, fuel reg, exhaust manifold, etc, etc, etc.

    If you have the PD160, thats all you need and IS a big improvement for a chipped car.

    Windscreen washer bottle: get a different one.
    battery: that one looks turned, if you want to move it, get it mounted to the side of the engine bay PROPERLY... it weighs a lot, you don't want it bouncing around or breaking free and loosing power / smashing around your engine bay.
