Ah dual port that makes sense mate. Do you have some info on that valve???? The reason the lamp comes on is as you probably well know is that there is unmetered air and it overcompensates gassing the o2 sensor. BUt the dual port sound good, still must have an element of unmetered air of course.
Be interested to have a look.

Is it just me or do BOV's seem to add a 'wank' factor. Or even turn such a nice Euro car like this into a boganesque Jap-like car?

different strokes for different folks... some like noises, some don't

for me, if it benefits my car and adds abit of a flutter - sure, why not.

shows more presence on the road

I got the Turbosmart Kompact Dual Port BOV fitted on my car. Its been 1 month and no idiot light has come up yet. I also have my engine cover fitted.

If you get one make sure its the 25mm as this will fit on a Polo. Mine is all black no silver/metal finish on the top of it as it is in the photo.

I personally like the BOV on the car not many people expect it when they hear it coming from a small hatchback Euro car. I always liked the way they sound. Its only associated with ricers because they are the majority of cars with BOV's. But these days even Ford's run around with BOV's (XR6 Turbo, being the most common, in my opinion). With the GTI having such a smooth power delivery you can sometimes forget ur driving a turbo car, till you hear the BOV

I have the APR R1 installed along with a CAI and the increase in noise far exceeded what I expected from a diverter valve. Obviously not as loud as a BOV but enough for me!

    1. i was experiencing some boost leak (mainly in third gear) and was told a good BOV can hold a lot more boost.

    2. since having the BOV i've found that i don't get any leak and through third gear especially it holds boost all the way through....nice and smooth.

    3. i personally like the sound, but would understand those who don't like the sound would consider it a 'wank' factor. it's a personal thing i guess.

    4. majority of turbo race cars use BOV's and i wouldn't think they were going for the 'wank' factor.

sorry have no pics or vids up yet, the gf has the camera and keep forgetting to get it off her.
