Bad knocking sound on full lock

Hey guys just wondering if any of you have had this problem and what was fixed? The knocking sound that I've had previously that went away for a while has returned and only seems to happen when turning to the right at or close to full lock when moving from stationary position or when turning right onto my driveway. Sounds horrible like something is breaking or really friggin loose. The sound has occured prior to lowering the car but went away for a while after lowering but has now returned in a worse state. HELP!!! Did a search online and it seems that it may be either the engine mount, gearbox mount or CV joints? Any suggestions? The car has done about 42000k's and will be booked in to VW for a service and to get it looked at. Its lowered with Bilstein B8's and H&R springs. Its got the APR engine mount. No FSB or RSB. Recently took off the strut brace and it seems the sound is now only intermittent. Weird...

Thanks in advance. Any suggestions or experience on this problem before JMAC? Cheers.

My bet would be on the CV joint (it is usually a horrible noise that gets worse over time click click click)

Drivers side tends to go first

In my pog (with similar km) all the bushes are stuffed (control arm and sway bar) it would be worth getting these done at the same time.

    good luck

Before changing my suspension, I had some knocking noises when going into reverse, on hard lock and sometimes under braking.

The bearings (at first I thought topmounts) were pretty wrecked, not sure if the noise is similar, but apparently these parts are more prone to wear with lowered cars.

The replacement parts were cheap (less than 100 for bearings on both sides) but it would take a bit of labour to get the old ones out and new ones in...

Called VW today and described the sound to them and immediately they said its most likely the CV joint so they'll look into it when I bring the car in for service. Hopefully they fix it.

    Hey Dave.
First thing i thought was the CV joints when i read the full lock and knocking sound.

Let us know how much they are charging to replace them.

Best of luck with it all.

Hmm, click click click will be Cv perhaps but you say knocking, maybe terminlogy, going up the driveway hmm. Full lock and do 360 turn itll click click mate, that is the cv letting go. Suppose if yours is bad enough it could come across as a knock.
    Cheers
