if they are 7.5" wide like mine, then you want +35 offset.
my wheels are +32 and don't rub the guards

maybe he is thinking of the vw golf, and thats why he is saying +45.

My TT wheels are 17x7.5 ET32 and they are perfect running 205/40/17.
Oz wheels are the ducks nuts i can understand why you want to get this right.

the wheels i have now are ET32, which means they protrude out further, which looks great. but increases the risk of scrubbing over harsh bumbs

if our wheel are 43 you'll lose 5mm at back of the wheel gain 21mm in front
if they are 38 you'll lose 10mm at the back gain 16mm at the front.

on stock ride hight you shouldn't have a problem, lowered if you run 205/40 instead of 45 you should be fine unless you drop it excessively but then all bets are off

Still worried then it's time to take out the measuring tape and check how much space you have.

I know everyone has already chimed in and answered but i got side tracked by actual work and had already gone to the trouble so I'm posting it all anyway

Hi guys, yeah I agree with the guys at tempe tyres not being that helpful and kinda rude. I rang them up on 3 seperate occasions for different wheels and each time I was served by a different person and all three of them were quite rude, blunt and didn't seem to like being corrected. They kept telling me my car had a 4 stud bolt pattern and kept making the mistake that I was asking for wheels for a golf instead. Oh well, suppose I'll have to get my wheels from somewhere else. They already lost one customer.

you cant expect any better from tempe.

although in all fairness, they have to deal with fanboi's all day every day dribbling **** about wheels they cant afford. And sik bro's wanting 22 inch wheels for their charade and wanting to pay $50 for it.

Do your own research and just go in there armed with the information you need, point and say i'll have that on that white car out in the parking lot kthxbai here's the cash
