I defiantly like the inside. But the front is a big let down, i suppose the back will grow on me.... just doesn't seem as aggressive. still not as soft looking as a mazda 2 from the back.

I'm sure by the time the GTI version is released ... it'll look VERY different from that. If not ... then VW is going in the WRONG direction IMHO.

the proportions of the car are girly. very similar to the new mazda 2/ ford fiesta

but i think the biggest question is... how tunable are TSI engines? and are they too complex/expensive to mod?

The front is pure ugly, back is much better. Overall its lines are not agressive enough but i can picture it with two doors and a nice body kit and big wheels. It would look very similar to the scirocco. But from first impression im quite comfortable about my soon to be arriving 08 polo. Also I can't wait for the Audi A1 to come out and hopefully see if there will be a nice S3.

The exterior as forementioned looks very Japanese, which I find to be a shame and extremely ugly. The interior also looks quite Japanese besides the dash instrument clusters - they have an Alfa look. It's quite weird how VW's future releases seems to have a very Japanese feel and look to them... Disappointing.

Always hard to judge from 'shopped "renderings" -- I reckon in 3dr, in the right colour and with the usual GTI treatment, it'll look pretty good. Hope it's not too heavy, though, and I wonder if they'll really stick to the 1.4TFSI in the GTI? 1.8TFSI would be better

Im sure it will look mutch better in gti form and in the dealership .I would consider
it if it had a dsg gearbox and the tsi engine is cheaper on fuel and still has soom go in it, the specs in the bigger heavier golf are ok and one other thing i need is 5 door.So bring it on gti polo 5 door 1.4 tsi dsg white under 30k and im in.

At least it has nicer taillights than the current Pogo - the ONLY thing I don't like about my baby (other than the rattles... )

    Cheers!
