APR Stage 1 - How to switch program?

The battery on my 2007/8 Polo GTi died on me over the weekend and I just had it replaced today.

After having to phone the dealer to get the radio out of safe mode, I then noticed the car is significantly less powerful when I took it out for a drive. I suspect it has gone back to stock mode

I tried following the video on the goapr link below but after activating the 98 octane program, the EPC light does not flash at all to indicate activation of the selected program
APR - High Performance Development for Audi, VW and Porsche Vehicles.

I re-read the instructions again which indicate that the ECMS functions can be disabled if "Security Lockout" feature is enabled. But I can't seem to disable it. The YouTube video also shows the steering wheel of a different Polo to that of my 9N3. The APR receipt issued to the previous owner has a security pin (that I used) printed but it is in a row beneath a row that has "Anththeft" printed. Is there a separate ECMS Security Pin to that of the Antitheft Security Pin?

If you have security lockout, then that prevents program switching. (and is activated on a battery removal to prevent dealers accessing the programs). You will need to enter your PIN number to access program switching:

APR - High Performance Development for Audi, VW and Porsche Vehicles.

Take your time, it takes a little practice to work out the sequence if you do not use it often!

Actually, my EPC light doesnt flash after I select a tune. In fact nothing happens after I release the set button when I see the right light flashing sequence,
But the tunes do change. If you aren't sure, try setting it to the valet program and go for a drive.... (Just don't go driving in traffic because it's f'ing dangerous....) then set it back to 98.

It seems to muck around with the throttle sensitivity (or something like that) so that full throttle is like 1/8 throttle. (Makes sense since you can't drop boost below the base wastegate setting anyway). Scary cos you practically have to floor it just to move off normally.
