Not to discount this, but to add some thought...Some cars run a MAFless tune, so the MAF is removed all together, and the car tuned around this, and other cars also run a MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor...This still allows the engine to run freely(albeit with a large loss of power) if you blow a intercooler hose...(as what happens alot on my mates Evo 3...Thank God he has a MAP sensor...It has saved a long walk sometimes...Too much boost).
What I am saying is, cars can be tuned to work around different parameters...If you want a fully atmosphere BOV, your car can be tuned for this...Its up to what you want, what you have money for, and what the negine has.

Blitzen is correct. The MAF sensor measures the volume of air passing through the intake and therefore the ECU can predict things like ignition and fuel much more easily in a larger variety of conditions.

If you vent to atmosphere, some of this air is lost from the inlet tract and therefore the ECU 'thinks' that the engine is consuming more air in the charge than it actually is, and it can make the engine run rich and idle rough, among other things.

If you want to run an atmosphere vented BOV (You tossers.. ), you need an engine tune adapted to that.

Vent/recirc BOV's can give you a noise with the benefit of most of the air being recirculated, but it's still not ideal.

    Make sense?

interesting read, i thaught bov's were purly for noise, didnt relise hey offered a performance gain in some engines.

All things on an engine serve some kind of purpose toward the performance of the engine/vehicle. The main use for a BOV/DV is to prevent 'Compressor Stall' in the turbo when the throttle butterfly is snapped shut and the compressed charge air has no where else to go except for back down the inlet tract.
The DV/BOV then, operating under manifold vacuum, opens and allows the wasted charge air out, preventing the turbo from slowing down.

rekon It would work on stock ecu? hehe

From my limited knowledge, think the Forge one sounds the part.

The 70 plumback and 30 BOV gives good reliability and I believe can be made to full plumback with the adjustment knob.

Think someone tried to look into a bulkbuy from that company and never got any response.

I'm quite happy to offer them the respect they deserve, and the situation warrants
Never heard a BOV on the road mozzy, really?

I had a hks ssqv on my silvia and loved it. Hardly made any noise on daily drive except when you are giving it heaps of stick and then it was very loud.

But yeah I agree with gareth, unless the cops are being really picky it's about how you are driving not about your mods. I drove my car for a good 18 months with a bonnet full of illegal sh*t with no permits but I rarely drove like a tool so I whenever I was pulled over they were good about it, didn't even have side indicators or windscreen wipers haha.

That being said I have known people that have been shafted for illegal goodies for only driving 10kms over the limit.

Yeah, It probably would...My Forge one worked on a stock ECU too.
Now, read the text in both of these ad's, and tell me this hasn't been copy/pasted...

    HAHHaHahaha!

    people are so lazy.

Funny thing is, they both probably stole it from another website.

I'm thinking the Motorcade boys stole the ad, and did a but of reverse engineering on the valve to make their own.... I personally have the Forge BOV and found that it is very well made too.
