Can anyone assist me in getting my hands on a Forge Splitter?

This 'puff of air' from the DV is taken into account by the ECU. If it isn't there, this throws out the volume of air that is measured.
Once air is in the intake duct (lets say the SEAT intake, before your air filter), because the air is contained, it is under some amount of pressure. Even if the turbo wasn't there, the air would still be drawn in by the pistons on there downward cycle(much like when you breath, air is drawn into your lungs by the vacuum created by your diaphragm...). This vacuum is creating an inwards pressure to the duct, filter, and then to the combustion chamber...

Or, buy it direct from the site...

Back when I posted this comment I don't think I had actually really listened out for them but since then I have heard one on a riced up Nissan Skyline that dared to take me on but thats a different story alltogether.
Anyway having run the APR R1 DV for awhile now I can say that is that the performance is beyond what I had imagined. The way it holds boost during shifts and eliminates turbo lag is nothing short of astonishing at times and sometimes borders on lethal. Quite a few times I have entered a corner a wee bit fast and upon changing down gears the boost is still there and you end up pretty much catapulting around the corner when you go to press the acelerator next. Quite hair raising to say the least.
Anyway the other things I like about this DV that is rarely touched upon is the fact you can install it and forgot about it. It requires zero maintenance due to it being diaphragm based and not piston based like the Forge splitter which requires periodically lubing. It is also said that the R1 functions with a faster response time than piston based DVs.
I guess in the end it all depends with what you prefer and what you can afford.
