Apparantly unmuffled BOVs are illegal on Oz roads. Does the Forge Splitter come under that category? That make a hell of noise one would think thats just going to alert the plod.
I also run a Kompact Series Dual Port BOV like [-Polo GTI-]. I have not had any problems with it running half atmo half plumb back.
I also had the DV code come up on VAG-COM when I had the Polo chipped. But I have been using it for about 9 months with no problems.

If you put any form of atmo bov on your GTI then you are increasing the sound output of your car above the ADR compliance level... Thus you are breaking the law.
You can avoid this by having your car drive-by noise tested by a certified laboratory but it is very expensive...
BUT.... the odds of getting caught with an atmo bov in a euro car are minimal so don't worry about it... The worst the popo are going to do is say "take it off"
Yeah but if they do pull you over, they will yellow sticker it which means that you'll have to take it over the pits and if you've ever done that before you know how excruciatingly painful it is! lol Trust me you don;t wanna take an already modified car over the pits as they'll pick it to pieces. They pinged me once for bubbled window tint and how many cars do you see going around with crappy tint? And mine wasn;t even that bad. Thats how picky they are, perhaps its just the WA plod but yeah It's a risk.
Actually in 20 years of driving I have never heard a BOV on a car. Always here the farting exhuast kids put on their Rex's and Lancers but never have I heard a BOV which I find quite odd.
BUT each to their own I guess and thats the reason we luv playing around with these things.
LOL Mozzy, I dont think its the WA police thats the issue, i think its the people they pull over.
Ive been pulled in over many occasions and in cars with various states of subtle to highly illegal (and loud) mods, and Ive never had to go over the pits.
I'm quite happy to offer them the respect they deserve, and the situation warrants

with the Forge BOV / Diverter, as there is an udjustment to the unit, can you change it from 100 diverted to slightly BO? Or is the adjustment not going to change the level of the noise?
As the vented to atmosphere is coming out past the blades, I assume this is giving the high pitched effect. Could you alter (file or fill) in these blades to reduce the noise?
i would like to get a dual port unit, but want a little better performance and a little more noise... Don't want to rice my Euro
What are these blades you speak of? The vented air is only coming out of an aperture in the body of the BOV when the piston inside the BOV reaches that point.
The Forge BOV has 3 settings...
1)Full recirculation.
2)Duel Port (either 30% atmo/70% recirc, or vice versa).
3)Full atmo venting.
It comes with a screw in plug to make it suit what you want.
Its all here...
