well im with NRMA...ill give them a call tomorrow.

im loving the apr 98 mode! should come as an optional from VW
How did you go with the NRMA? When I enquired about my APR chip they told me that they do not cover modified ECU's on turbocharged vehicles and if I went ahead with it they would no longer cover my vehicle.

This is for someone who had insured with them for 20 years without a claim, 60% no claim bonus and 40 y/o driver, so I'd be interested to get an update on how you got treated by them.

I cancelled my NRMA insurance, got my APR done and went with Shannons who happily listed all my mods on my policy including the APR ECU upgrade.

Be careful there with the wording they use, the policy is used to cover them as well if things aren't listed, because you have a duty to openly notify them of all modifications and list them on the policy, if you have an accident and you haven't, they could refuse to cover you because of modifications, especially things like suspension that they can argue have effected driveability and they haven't been told about or agreed to cover on a particular vehicle/policy.
