So I should be feeling a noticeable difference? Actually feels like the turbo is spooling slightly later not earlier. Could all be in my head tho..I am getting a bit old.
You'd be getting exhaust lights on your dash if they didn't.

Hey chipped keep us posted as to the performance of the downpipe/HFC. I am mulling over whether to get this done as well. If it helps to control heatsoak then our very late WA summer heat will be an ideal testing ground. I've been driving around the heat these past few days and it may be me getting use to the new speed of the APR tune but I cant help but think these hot days are really slowing down my car. At times it feels like its not even chipped! I never really never noticed it when stock but since the APR tune it is very noticable. I am trying to decide whether to go a FMIC or exhaust ugrade at this stage. Having said I want to sort out the suspension as well. Huge wish list, not much cash...lol

OK, here's my review of the APR Downpipe.

I was the first person to have the downpipe installed - it was delivered to Guy the day I was there. I got it done the same time as the tune (and TIP/engine mount) so I can't comment on the benefits separately...

I drive it every day (done around 18000kms in the 12 months I've owned it - 13000 since the upgrade, including a track day).

First thing I noticed was the sound, it is more 'burbly' than stock and sounds more like a rally car with the occasional popping/crackling noise when you back off at high revs. The sound of the turbo is also a fair bit louder and you can hear the air being sucked in.

Dyno says I have about 7-8kw atw up on just a tune. 8kw atw for $1100 is pretty good - obviously nowhere near as much as the tune (42kw for $1500), but still worth the increase.

I would do it again if I started again.

Yeah my case is a bit different going from 7 months of APR tune then a DP and HFC added..I gotta try and feel those extra 8kw ATW as opposed to the Tune and DP together. I admit she sounds awesome...but still trying to work out the performance side...remember I have only been for a couple of drives wanna give it a good week or so.

Mozzy yeah I'm with you on the Perth summers. I'm ex-Melbourne where wait a couple of days and it'll be 13 degrees..again.
You'll enjoy Perth winter mornings thats for sure. Will keep you posted on the DP and HFC.

DP and FMIC was worth 17kw atw to me for about $1500 fitted. So a bit less than the 30kw atw that a chip provides but well worth the combined effort to provide almost 50kw atw extra over a stockcar.

APR DP and FMIC will set you back over $3500 (fitted) for almost the same result.

Yeah I agree! Being in Perth with it being so small, there is just not enough 'performance' workshops that can be bothered doing this kind of thing for a car such as the Pog. Perth is great if you have a commodore like every other man & his dog! lol

As far as I know, nothing but the intercooler piping was done by a VW specialist, just an exhaust shop.
