Saw a new white Polo on Condamine St, Manly Vale yesterday. Looked fantastic.

I was worried they just looked good in pictures, but be a bit disappointing in the flesh. Not so, very nice!

I'm not up on Polo models and it was going the opposite direction to me, but it didn't have any fog lights.

I for one cant wait for all the details to come out tomorrow, but drive.com.au just let slip here New Volkswagen Polo is like the Golf
    that:

"Volkswagen has lowered prices fractionally for the new Polo range, which starts at $16,690 for a (Spanish-built) three-door manual and $19,850 for a (South African-built) five-door manual. "

    and

"the seven-speed 'DSG' automatic - autos make up the majority of light car sales - is a $2500 alternative to the five-speed manual standard on the entry-level Trendline three-door and range-topping 66TDI, and six-speed manual standard on the 77TSI. "

Check the VW website, all the details, prices and brochures are up.

In fact, I think a 77TSI with Sports Package will suit the majority of people who would have otherwise had a Polo GTI. The little 1.2 Turbo is a cracker, IT CAN MOVE!

Can you get a TDI in a 3 door??

    Thanks!

There is a TDI though however given the performance and fuel economy of the TSI I'm not sure it's neccessary....

    How eloquent.

There is a 3 door variant. It's the 1.4 petrol job.

Would have to agree with you there Dermot. We test drove a 77TSI yesterday with the sport pack and it really is a great little car. You're going to have a hard time convincing people that the Golf is worth the extra money unless they really need more space!

I found 1st gear very average. The car wants to go but its being held back a lot, get into 2nd and the thing is a lot of fun. It is unforunate that initial stock doesn't have a spec to suit us, otherwise the purchase would have been completed yesterday. The missus wants a white 77TSI with DSG and both packs. Hopefully doesn't take too long to come in but at least I've gotta good chance of getting my new car before she does

How was the cornering with the sports pack suspension mate? My missus had her heart set on the 77kw TDI in a 3 door and wanted Jimmy to either Bluefin or Superchip it for some more grunt (she is under 25 so can't drive a petrol turbo so the 77TSI is out) but I think she may need some convincing now.
