What is a "BMC CDA"?
I am in the process of putting in a smaller battery, custom battery tray and a BMC CDA
Should have it all done soon hopefully, still waiting for a few things
Kind of wanted to do it to clean up the engine bay
What is a "BMC CDA"?

2016 MY17 Polo GTI with DA package. TMD fitted + Weather strip and Snow Screen removed otherwise dead standard.
I wonder if it has less than 1 inch of water pressure drop? After much testing (but I must say, not all on VW intakes), I prefer to stick with the factory airbox and filter - and replace much of the other bits!

yeah... and you'd be right- check out tdiclub.com... those boys swear time and time again that anything other than the stock air intake setup, is sacrificial......
stick with what you've got, unless you go with a "dry paper filter media conical air intake" like greg roles etc on here... anything else will be a warm air intake...
sheesh, i feel ***king stupid for running my BMC oiled filter in my polo tdi (same engine)... im gonna replace it with the stocky soon...
p.s. no offense whatsoever to the petrol boys... when you delve into the rabbit hole, same size engines have very different characteristics when it comes to diesels.... (e.g. dump pipe = good, on petrol 1.8T vs. dump pipe = blow turbo sooner, on 1.9 TDI)
cheers,
scotty
bmc = air filter company, cda = cold air intake, should be a few threads floating around about using the search option if your curious![]()
" I wait I resolution derive pleasure this " latest spammer post
BMC is the company wich makes them.
CDA is Carbon Dynamic Airbox.
it's a Carbon cilinder shape box, wich houses the airfilter.
they use carbon because its lighter, and it conducts heat better as plastic or metal.
so you get optimal cold air flow.
verry good system, but it has a good price to...![]()
