    Air-Cond issues!!

    Hi All!

I currently own a 2008 Polo Gti (9n3) and am having some issues with the car a/c system.

The a/c will stop blowing cold air after a 25-30mins drive. Pop the hood and notice that the a/c fan motor not running even if the a/c switch is on. Restarted the engine and the a/c will start blowing cold air again.

I've already replaced the a/c fan motor & compressor. Also, the a/c hose & valve were replace and the a/c gas been refilled. But I am still having the same problem.

Any kind soul here has encountered a similar problem or any idea what is the solution to it.

Thank you very much in advance.

Have you checked the fan control unit?

Can you get the car scanned through the OBD? A mechanic should have OBD scanning capability, or see a dealer mechanic. Alternatively, get the paid version of VCDS to scan yourself - some info and price - Ross-Tech Store: VCDS. It should ascertain whether it's a mechanical or electrical fault in the system.

One of my polo's has a dying solenoid which seems to turn the AC off when I change the temp setting. By scanning, it tells me exactly what solenoid it is to save the fault finding hassle. So I can now search for a replacement solenoid and instructions on how to do the job (not that I have, I just don't change the temperature )

Thanks to both @The One and @seangti for your suggestions.

Finally got the a/c fix. My mechanic told me its due to wiring. Hopefully that could be one of the solution if others face the same problem.
