ABS, ERP lighting up, need help. thanks

    hi guys,

I was driving my polo gti the other day, tuk a left turn then all of a sudden both my ABS and ERP lights light up. ERP button is now showing as OFF.
also the other button the one that indicates ur tyre pressure (!) lights up as well, so i though maybe this was whats causing the issue, so i checked my tyre pressure and made it all to be the same, press the button so that it acepts the new settings but it comes back up again.
also when i break now, i can feel a grinding noise.

has anyone had this problem before and if so, anyone can sugest to me what i can do to fix it. i will be taking it to a local mechanic to hav it checked on the w.e but thought il get some ideas for the time being.
this morning, i was driving it to work and the light didnt come up at all, was driving for about 30mins. the two lights will come up after about 5mins of driving for the past week or so.

    thanks guys!

I have the same electric problem when I'm pushing too hard on the track.

In my case, it is a random problem, it never happened on the street.

The problems disappear when I turn off the ignition. When I turn it back on, the error was erased.

I went to the dealer to scan the problem, but nothing appears on their scanner, I think it is a bugged wheel sensor.

A bung ABS sensor or even a simple brake light switch can cause this - diagnostic tool will tell in about 3 minutes!

It is not so easy for me!

Every time the problem occurs on a Sunday and I don't have a diagnostic tool.

i have also had this happening over the past few weeks. Same warning lights would come up esp and abs. Also my car would not start sometimes and other times it would be fine. I thought it mite be the battery. i took it into vw and they said it was a loose connection to the battery and cleaned out the starter motor. but it has started to happen again.

Is your car under warranty?? If so, I suggest you go and see a dealer to get it checked out for free.

This is getting really irritating. Same problems again. this time the car won't start at all. had to call up VW assiatance to come jump start me last night. He tested the battery and alternator and said nothing was wrong with it came up as 100% power cells. He suggested me to tell the dealership to run a drain test since it was under warranty to find the problem. Now i have to book the car in again. Also getting the abs and esp lights coming on and off while driving. can anybody tell me what is wrong with my car?
