    A 9N3 GTI's Trip To Summernats!!!!

    Hi All....

Have been wanting to do this for quite a few years now, so Dad and I have decided to do a bonding tour and head down to Summernats for the 25th Anniversary leaving tomorrow (03/01)!! Am going to use this thread as a bit of a photo/video blog of our journey.

We will be taking in such sights as:

    • Tuesday - Warwick (Morgan Park Raceway)
    • Tuesday / Wednesday - Bathurst (Obvious Reasons - Driving, Sleeping, Drinking)
    • Wednesday - Orange (Cause it's Next to Bathurst)
    • Wednesday to Friday - Canberra (Summernats and More Drinking!!!)
    • Friday - Sydney (For Photos)
    • Saturday - Newcastle (For Sleeping and Catching Up With Mates)
    • Saturday - Coffs Harbour (Resting/Surfing)
    • Sunday - Port Macquarie (Surfing)
    • Sunday - Byron Bay (Surfing)
    • Sunday - Home (Car Washing)

Proposed Route can be found HERE

..... and the Polo getting checked over for the journey ahead

If any southern members want to catch up with us at any stage shoot me a PM and we'll try to co-ordinate a meeting location somewhere!!!

I've been before. I went to the 21st. No abuse, no morons. Just a great time.

I'll be there Saturday and Sunday.

Well all... would have loved to put more photos and videos up, but some a**holes decided they wanted my laptop and cameras more than me when they broke into our house on Saturday night.. Also taken were two of my housemates cars, but not the Polo thankfully!!

Gives me an excuse to go back there next year I guess...

I went to Nats 2 back in, gee, '88/'89? when it was still wild and wooly and not some family orientated sanitised event where babies are welcome. They used to eat them for snacks back then. Hired a VL Calais and drove from Sydney with a carload of people. It was fantastic. There was a sense of things going out of control at any moment. Wonderful!!!!! I can remember getting run off the road on Northbourne Ave on a uge cruise when some blokes in this enormous - thing - with HUGE tyres like a mining truck sort of rubbed down the side of the hire car. I had a bit of a go at them as Hertz would probably get a bit cranky with marks all down the drivers side. God bless their bogan hearts, they threw cans of beer at me in a good natured way. Ahhhhh the good ol' days.

    God the cars were fantastic....

Whatever happened to Chic Henry? He used to own the rights to this I believe.
