Question to all: if you were to install said DRL's on your polo, where abouts would you mount them, how many diodes/length of light would you prefer?
Careful buying headlights from Europe - they are designed for Left-Hand-Drive cars so the beam will dip to the wrong side!

Too much of a wank unless your car had them from factory if you ask me. Ie: The new Golf R ones are hoooot.
MY2008 VW Polo GTi / GIAC Tune / Forge FMIC / Forge 007 DV / N75 Race / BMC OTA / KW V1 Coilovers / Whiteline Front&Rear Swaybars + Toe-In Shim / Weichers Front&Rear Strut Braces / Full Non-Res Milltek Exhaust / 17" Bora Sport
I like the ones in the original post. Bit expensive though...
I just fitted these:
Philips - DayLight 8 LED solutions DRL 12 V 6 W - 12824WLEDX1 - Headlights - Car lamps - Lighting
in my Bluemotion.
They slot quite nicely into the top slot of the lower grilles (though you need to cut away some of the back and one vertical rib), looks much neater than the ones in the OP.
I'll try to get some pictures if anyone wants to see though I'm not on here too often (work and family).

i'd like to see! i cant see myself forking out $500 for headlights just to have DRL's (and risking losing the levelling function etc etc), but i DO DO DO rate DRL's for the safety they can potentially provide - especially given that the road authority in melbourne has recently published a print ad that says something like "no, you dont have to be a good driver to pass your license test, but wouldnt it be better if you passed with flying colors?", quite simply pointing to the fact that everyone on the roads in melbourne is isht.
put up some photos!
How much were the Phillips ones, and where did you get them from? They look good!
Try these guys in Oz: Invision (No prices, though)
Have you heard of Google?
In the UK they aren't cheap...
