Hey T Go - I've used the Philips website too...and like you, i have found that our fog lights are H3. I totally trust Philips on this and purchased mine on www.powerbulbs.com but once i wanted to replace the fog i was bothered....
See below the stock bulb of my fog light in my hand and the Philips H3 :
So i think the good ones are HB4 like torn said in the first post above.
Here is a link of all the bulbs in pic, check the HB4 that seems to be the most resembling, isn't it ?
Cheers,
Quest
Hi, this is a confirmation post as to a cheap but pretty effective solution for 2007 Polo 9N:
Low Beam are H7,
Hi Beam H1:
We just bought Philips Blue Vision for both -it also includes the parkers in the Blue Vision Kit.
Blue Vision is one of the cheapest kits ( $59 H1 & $69 H7 from Autobahn ) retail but you still get a MAJOR improvement in the lighting. Its now white light no yellow tinge at all. I was driving in front of him in the rain friday and the standard Lo Beam globes look crap!
According to the guy in Autobahn Blue vision are the brightest legal and work well in fog whereas Crystal and Diamond visions don't work so well.
My 18 year old son is very happy and i was happy to save the $$$.
You could probably get them cheaper online but we're into instant gratification.
had a passat tdi. now mb c class.
Great thread of globes. Where would I be able to source these globes? Would Autobarn sell these Phillips Blue Vision LED's?
I've bought all mine off ebay.
Ebay it is then! Thanks Ben.
I've found some nice C5W LED 39mm Festoon globes (dome type for the number plate), but does anyone know if 36 or 39mm will fit for all the interior lighting.
A member from page 1 mentioned this:
Interior Globes - Front
1 x Osram N5K 10W 12V 39mm Festoon (Main)
2 x Osram 5W5 5W 12V Wedge (Reading)
Interior Globe - Rear
1 x Osram 5W5 5W 12V Wedge
Number Plate Globes
2 x Philips C5W 5W 12V 39mm Festoon
Does anyone know, for example - for the interior globes, if I just get the same one as my number plates (same specs), will that be a problem at all?
I'm asking because I'd rather just buy all the globes from one seller to make it easier.
Please let me know![]()
Blue vision may be one of the "whitest" globes around, but they won't be the brightest, nor last the longest. Any globe that has a blue tint is filtering out some light and therefore sacrificing output for colour. See the following link for more info (Daniel Stern is a well respected US automotive lighting "guru"):

From extensive testing I did about 18 months ago the brightest easily available 55W H1 and H7 globes are the Phillips X-treme series, however the Osram H1 65W "Rallye" is significantly brighter still and lasts longer (but AFAIK is only available from overseas vendors).
