7,500km service interval reminder

Just before I carry on ignoring it, the fact that my Polo has a service interval reminder set at 7,500 doesnt mean it actually needs to be done does it? Or does the Polo have some flux capacitor that other VW's dont that needs replacing at 7,500

I assume its a stealer attempt to squeeze more dollars out of people who dont have access to the real facts?

No its not required. But I think its a good idea to change the oil and filter - especially if its the first 7500km and the oil hasn't been flushed yet.

Just get a trusted mechanic to do it, or if your confident do it yourself. Make sure you use VW approved oil and OEM filters too (OEM filter cost me $18 )

Yeah didnt think it was required.....if its not i wont be getting it done as its fleet managed anyway....
