sounds like the biggest difference is by Verdict motor bushings.
    06 Polo GTI - REVO Stage 2 = 140kw @ wheels.
06 Golf GTI - Bluefin Stage 1 blacked out with ED30 theme, leather, xenon, etc.

btw, i have also changed the pendulum mount bushing so that might make a difference too.
oops! my apologies. silly me, i should clarify that i put in the verdict motorsports bushings and not the front/side endlink bushings from 42dd. sorry.

Actually, i've had any few tries, 1st to 2nd to 3rd, it did seem abit more percise (Verdict Bushings).
I think the 42DD ones for the endlink will make a greater difference as it's a more direct part of shifting. I'm def getting one of those

But I'm having trouble removing the side/side endlink off of the black plastic pin holding it in place. It doesn't have the metal retaining clip like the front/back endlink; instead it's held on by a little raised plastic part on the pin which I've tried to push down with pliers which doesn't work. Can anyone help me?

    Cheers

EDIT: Never mind guys, didn't read the part on how VW introduced the plastic bracket for the side/side linkage. I need to drill...
Guys I just installed both the Verdict and the 42dd bushes, and the good news for those installing the 42dd bushes and have an early build (Oct05 - May06) that has the HWY gearbox, you can easily install both the front/back AND the side to side bushes.

The early HWY gearbox has the advantage that both the end clips are metal and are easily removed.

Can't say it took me 1/2 an hour to install, both lots of bushes are are relatively easy, but removing the strut brace, intake pipe and air cleaner is such a pain.

Shift feel is firmer and more precise, though we are talking degrees here. A cheap upgrade and recommended for those who see the track, or like just want better feel.

you don't need to take out your tip, just the airbox and intake hose

Quick Q, can anyone clarify how I remove the lower half of the airbox. Top half is easy enough, but lower half isn't as obvious.

there is only one screw to undo.

if you are standing at the front of the car, look at the lower right corner of the airbox. there's a screw around that area (a bit deep). remove that and pull the lower half out.

the airbox is held in place by 2 things - the screw mentioned above, and a piece of rubber (don't know what else to call it) somewhere around the lower middle section. this rubber is similar to the one that holds the engine cover in place.
