    When I bought mine they fitted it with 225/40R17s and that rubbed even when driven like a grandma. The 'limit' that most people have found is 205/45R16, 205/40R17 or 215/35R18.
    I run 215/40RZR17 Michelin Pilot Precedas on my Polo GTI with no rubbing issues - and that's on slightly lowered suspension and driven hard on the track. I haven't tried 215/45s.

    I tried a set of identical wheels with 225/40ZR17s and they rub when installed on either the front and back.

    I'm not game enough to try that lol. Even the extra cm would count for something.
