yeah ive goto agree, im not to fond of the 1.4 turbo/super charged engine either. though i very much doubt theyd keep to 1.8t with it. and as for the 2.0t i think its coming in the next r32 replacment.

I am pretty sure they are phasing out standard autos and replacing them with DSGs, considering what they have done with the new golfs I would expect the next Polo GTI to have DSG.

I think it looks OK, not keen on the 1.4l twincharged, I'll save my money for the R20T

The R20T is a golf... the launch is for the Polo.

OT: Whoever that wrote the article needs to go back to school and learn some proper English grammar, past-present-and future-tense... atrocious!

"New VW Polo came to the dealers in may 2009. "
"The lingering engines should cater for every penury." wtf?

Now back to the car - Not a bad looker, would love to see the two door and phew... 168hp in stock form isn't that much more than what we have now What are the tuning potentials of the TSI engine?

MK6 Golf GTI and possibly the R20T also due to make an appearance at the Geneva show .....

1.4 TSI is limited in ultimate power tuneability. Chipping it will take it to 150kw but from there on the ability extract more power will be less than with the current 1.8T 20V.

Better for the new Polo GTI would have been the 1.8 TSI engine from the A3.

yeah i know its a golf and probably a lil off topic, some of the convo was talking about the geneva motor show launch , my comment was about geneva in general as apposed to just the polo launch.im interested in both.

i fully agree with everyone, itll be interesting to see how much they get out of that lil 1.4 twin charge. but i doubt itll be anything fantastic.
