    1st cars

Hey guys obviously everyone here is into the VW range but just wondering what was your first car and if it had any mods??

ill start.. my first car was a lil Swift GTi and still my favourite.. awesome little car . started with the normal mods of mags, lowered, exhaust and air filter but got a lil bored so spent some money on porting the head upping the comp and putting some lumpy cams in it.. After more time and being in love with it i took the cams out and finally put a custom turbo job and microtech computer...what a car!! finally the rattles of a 11yr old car started to get to me and i sold my pride and joy which ill regret forever.
if i can find some photos ill post them...

A mk2 2L ford escort ghia - complete with white vinyl roof.

Mods included lumpy cam (can remember what - it was done prior to my purchase)
    Toyota T-15 5 speed box
Rear shocks from a VN I think
    2" exhaust
    Mini lite wheels
Sprayed in XY GT electric blue (not far from Jazz blue)

That's about all I can remember.

Well my 2nd car was also a Suzie Gti (as mentioned elsewhere just now) - the squarish job - from '89 to '92 - I also loved it to bits. You could rev it to 7,500 every single gear change for years with no issues and still average 6.5/7.0 litres per 100kms. Only weighed around 800kgs and was just so much fun. Made the mistake of going from 13's to 15's (outrageous for the day and about the only mod available as the hot 4 scene was only just taking off). Had 4 spotties out the front and an alpine stereo (7903 h/u, 3554 & 3552 amp, Boston speakers - classic stuff).

1st car was a once immacualte low kms 4 door 1980 Corolla with sunroof, clarion stereo, pioneer speakers and eurovox equalizer, also 4 big spotties - absolutely flogged it to death. It was the local party car and eventually fell apart. Loved it.

Mine was my dads ex work horse 1994 Hyundai Excel(the last of the square ones) I didn't really do many mods to it as I was a first year apprentice electrician, and didn't really have the cash to mod the thing(or the want to be honest). This also became the party mobile as I was the first of my group of mates to have his own car, have a license, and be old enough to buy the beer for parties!!
This was also the car I learned that cars are money pits, after first blowing up the gear box, the burning out an exhaust valve and warping the head!!
It was a great first car!!!

1991 Lancer GSR - 1.6 NA FWD 90kw atw. Lowered to 70mm from the ground, body kit, 15inch mags, extractors, hot dog muffler. Loved this car.

If it had air con and didn't feel like a 1991 car (with everything being loose and rattling) I would like to still be driving it, despite losing my side skirts twice on speed bumps/driveways.

In 1969 I bought a lowered EH Holden with 7" wide wheels, extractors, centre dash guage pod and chrome tappet cover.
