    Hey Jayzee,
Mate i think i have heard of someone in the polo section doing it maybe one of the boys OS. But im not sure if you will be able to put anymore rubber on the car as im pretty sure that will rub if you go any wider. Ill try and search some stuff today and put it up for you. Or if you have time do a search and let us know.

edit - Have a look here mate http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/newf...ead.php?t=6662

Where as with this link http://www.bb-automobiltechnik.de/bb...B1_polo_9n.php they say you can go as wide as a 225/35R17 tyre and no spacers needed.

So what are your thoughts is it all to do with offset???

Just found another tuning company MTM who is selling them http://www.mtm-online.de/en/index.ph...3&FZID=POLO110
yes... everything to do with wheel offset.... from the look of those wheels the mounting face is really pushed out to the front of the wheel...; so when you mount it most of the wheel will actually sit under the car and possibly interfere with the struts. so if you use a spacer (which i believe are illegal in most states) this pushes the wheel out further and clears the struts.

hey guys i used to be involved with wheels alot bak home in terms of customising and doing one of things 18`s on a polo do work but offset must be 38 and 7.5jj if not you will need a rather thin alumin spacer as long as the inside just clears the shock you wont really have a problem
