    damn those eighteens look fine. for those lists of problems? ,......i think not. 17's it is.kinda answered a question of mine too naughty , cheers.

    I think 17" is really enought for a Polo GTI i'm running a 17" with 215/40 R17
    here is how it looks!

    I'm pretty sure the're from Tire Rack in the States and they are 17x8.0".

    lots of guys here had the same problem as me in regards to the gearbox - going from 1st to second it has a tendency to start grinding as if theres no syncromesh between those two gears - they normally fix it under the warranty of the car and if its serious enough they usually replace the entire gearbox depending on whereabout in the world you are

    its been rumored that the main cause of this grinding/crunching was the usage by VW of synthetic gearbox oil and changing the oil sorts out the problem - but in my case they dropped the gearbox and replaced some internal parts as well since it seems like a common problem - when mine went in there were around 6 gti's in the waiting line suffering from an identical problem

    if it really was the oil then im sure by now you wont encounter that issue cos im sure they will have changed the spec of the oil they use ...... but im sure theres a sticky topic here somewhere about the issue
