Euro standards. VW don't build that engine (1.8 20V) anymore as far as I am aware.
It was an old design that was pensioned off.

Actually i think you will find its a 1.8L version of the 2L GTI engine. Direct injection and 16V.

That's the EA888. Same as a Skoda Octavia engine. Craps all over the old 1.8 5 valver.
