And it needs a 6th. TBH the ratios in the MK4GTI box are much better IMHO.

LSD will be the priority when the clutch goes, 1st won't feel so short when you can actually use it.

I'm reasonably happy with stiffer sways, coilovers and semislicks for dealing with traction. Jacking up the passenger side another cm has helped the overall composure.
