I'll check mine tonight but I'm pretty certain they can be folded. I might be wrong though, haven't looked at the Polo for months. It's my parts car.
Cheers

I decide to cancel to go to BP automatic car wash because I seem unable to fold/tag in side mirror.
Could someone verify that Volkswagen Polo's (6N) 1997 side mirror CAN NOT be folded or I just can find the right way to fold the side mirror as prerequisite of using BP automatic car wash.
Has anyone ever successfully get an automatic car wash without folding the side mirror?
I think there should a book Dummy for Volkswagen Polo 1997.

Yep, mine fold. Takes a bit of effort but they fold in.
Have a look at the casing. If it's in 2 pieces (mirror surround and stem) then yours should fold too.

Thank you Paul for the info.
I just managed to folding the side mirror and sprayed it with WD40.
I think, it has been for quite sometimes my Polo's side mirror get folded.
This weekend, there should not be any problem to get the car wash in BP automatic car washer.
