no one knows ???
just trying to find out if my 2001 6n2 polo should have keyless entry? when i got the car i only got the one key and its just a key. i need to get another key and if it was ment to be a remote phob key i'd go get one.
If its not got remote locking i was looking at one of these kits
REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY CENTRAL LOCKING KIT VW LUPO POLO | eBay
should even be able to get the keys that are in the phob cut to fit to!!!
Also the A/C isnt working and the local shop that does them says they belive its the ex valve, not a hard job as its not under the dash, its just inside the engine bay at the fire wall! just wondering if anyone can suggest the best place to get one??
thanks in advance
steff........
no one knows ???
Not for a 6n2 I dont but if they are the same as the 6n1 in that they have a vacuum pump in the boot then there is a great kit that you can buy from china (stay with me) that is about $15 delivered and they are simply brilliant... but as i say, thats 6n1, not sure what the 6n2's have in relation to central locking.

If you're in need of any 6n1 parts, odds are that I am going to have them (dismantling 2 at the moment)
they have the vacuum pump the same as the earlier ones...
my main question is did it have a key fob /remote from factory?...
you have a link for the kit you are talking about?? the one i posted looked good but i have no feed back on it from people who have used it, and all i want is remote locking! as i said before i only have the one key and will get another cut but i dotn want to waste money if i can get a key with fob built in....
yes before anyone says my local vw dealer is HOPELESS!!!! they cant tell me if it came with remote or not!!! stupid stupid dealer!
thanks
steff.
I will help as much as i can but remember my only reference is the 6n1. can you attach a pic of your key to start with?

so that is just the fob which you wire into the rear where the central locking pump is, It is by far the best spot as you have both the wires you need for the locking and unlocking as well as access to the indicator wires on both sides for the flashing on lock and unlock as well as a good spot to put a buzzer/siren. For the siren, go to jaycar and buy their piezo buzzer for about $4 and glue it to the body near where the pressure equalisation vents that sit behind the bumper, you will see them near the central locking pump but on the actual body you can have a fully functioning central locking kit for less than $20
and i am not sure what you car would have come with, perhaps someone with a 6n2 can comment

hey pontiff
i ended up getting this unit, have to say very impressed for money!! one thing i wanted to ask you, when you wired your in which wires did you use for the lock unlock?? i see it has a two pin plug (not supplied) that says its for pneumatic or electric. i'm guessing i need to make a plug up for that?
cheers..
steff....
Hi steff, kindly attach a picture of what you are referring to please as I did not make up any plugs, just spliced into the central locking pump wiring
I can dig out my colour combinations if you like to match it up against?

when u look at the big picture of the wiring, it has the main block then to the right is a twin plug block with a black bung in it,, it says thats for electric or pneumatic central locking..... .. if u could look at ur colour combo that would be great..

everything else was a very simple job and all done, its just the correct way to wire the actual central locking part of it that has me slightly confused... i know the wires in the main plug to the pump are white/green for open and white yellow for close its just which ones from the unit i should connect if not by the two pin plug
thanks for all ur help mate
steff..
ahhh okay i am with u now.. that 'jumper' as its called just sets the delay on the relays for i think 1 second vs 5 seconds.. for our cars we just leave it as it is as the pump just needs a trigger voltage to run and it shuts off itself when the correct vacuum has been achieved.
I'll get the wiring tonight for you.... there are 3 wires that you dont need
