Someone else has asked this here before, you might want to search for it. I only recall that the answer was to insist on the OEM one.
Truck was good enough to send a decent size stone into windscreen this arvo and its replacement windscreen time
Anyone had expereince with same or suggestions - (local dealer no help, 'whoever you like' was the reply) - anyone used the old standard O'Brien's or maybe NRMA? Just wondering if need VW OEM or the units teh O'Briens et al use.

I had a stone chip repaired a while back (The R was only 3 weeks old too!) Mine had a chip and small crack around a 5cent piece in size. Obrien's did a repair with no issues and I can hardly notice it's there now - been almost 18 months! Only cost me a couple of hundred too! May be better to call them and ask about a repair first! Good luck![]()

There is a guy in my neck of the woods called Collins Windscreens. Dad used him a few years ago with no dramas and I've never heard a bad thing about him.

Thx Wolfgang - I'm Shire based as well so will give him a call. Did your Dad go teh OEM screen or a generic?
I had an OEM screen done by O'Briens.
I've used different branches a few times. Had one issue with the paint on my S3 being damaged, but the guy got fired (third chance and he messed up) and they paid for professional repair.

Cheers Ideo, after much chat and reading decided to play it safe and get dealer to install new OEM. Prob will work out $100 dearer but I'm pedantic so just thought prefer dealer to attend if any problems post installation (albeit they get an external guy to do it!)
Hehe, do they use O'Brien or someone else?
