Hi all-D*ckhead me kerbed one of the rims on the Skoda last night while pulling over in a hurry to answer the phone. The call wasn't worth it. I've managed to take some nasty looking chunks out of the rim. It's not a simple sand and paint, it's going to need some filling. Anyone know of someone who does this sort of work in the outer south east of Melbourne? Just after an idea of what sort of money I'm looking at for now. One of the other rims has some damage (was there when I bought the car) as well which I might get done too.
I doubt very much that it's cracked-it wasn't a really hard hit and I think the damage is cosmetic. Usually when I buy tyres I get ones with rim protection bands on the walls-the Michelins don't have this.
Apparently the Touch Up Guys who do chips and scuffs in cars generally can do this sort of thing but as it will need a little fill I'm thinking it might be best to go to a specialist.
I will be very keen to see any recommendations also.
I'm attempting this technique

I've just cleaned the rim so I'm gonna start on it now. If I stuff it up, I'll be back to check this thread for a wheel repairer.

There is www.advancedalloys.com.au in Moorabin, they're not the cheapest but their work is awesome...
