Guys I have just been speaking to Damien Hawkes at Shannons in Canberra and his words to me where if any of us has any problems getting insurance from Shannon's to please feel free to email him in the Canberra branch on damien.hawkes@shannons.com.au and he will look after you. Just mention that I sent you (Jason Smith)

I am only posting this as I myself and a few other guys in the past have wanted to go with Shannon's but have been turned back based on not being in clubs etc, and he has said that this is not a problem and shouldnt even be considered.

My experience with Shannons is that it completely depends who you happen to get on the phone when you call. I called once and got rejected because I wasn't in a "club", then called back a couple of hours later, spoke to someone else and had no trouble. He was a VW fan and we had a great conversation about my car.

Mate, that is exactly my experience with Shannons as well which is why I have put Damien's contact details up so you dont have to worry about who you deal with on the phone.

I think Shannon has changed their business model to get more mainstream insurance customer rather than just for club. I've added 2 family car to Shannon in last 18 months.
