    Service Sydney Area

My car is due for its first service and wondering where people use in Sydney.

Also can I use an independent as long as they use official VW parts and still keep my warranty in place?

    Thanks

You can use any licenced mechanic you like and you will keep your warranty.

Personally, I use Exoticars in North Parramatta. There are plenty of other specialists around, Volksmuller, Hills Eurohaus and the like - all reputable shops. I personally don't trust the dealerships. There are some good and some bad, but there's more of a personal touch when using specialists shops, you aren't just an in-and-out type deal.

Yes I'm the same, that's more the salesmen though, who just feed you want you want to hear, rather than the mechanics working behind the scene. I have had good experience in the past with the Mercedes dealer in Sydney. The pricing for servicing was competitive and found them to be pretty helpful.

Another reason that I'm think about using an independent, is that I have a JB1 fitted to my car. If I bring it to an independent, I presume that it wont be an issue and wont get recorded in my service notes?

Yeah, I wouldn't let it be going into VW with the JB1 in, and eff removing it for every service.

I'm booked in with them for the first weekend of September, glad to hear that they come recommended.

VW village in Kensington. I reside in Parramatta and travel to them for both VWs we own. Been going there for the past 9 years.

+1 although the extensive roadworks in front of their shop (for the light rail) is making life difficult.
Restricted access, no parking. Must be driving 'em mad.

Has anyone used FST Automotive in Penrith? Any horror stories or good reviews?
Been thinking about giving them a go as I work close so would be a convenient place to drop it off.
